This policy explains what LenguaChat does and doesn't do with your information. LenguaChat is operated by 2nd Empire Media. We built LenguaChat to be private by design.
LenguaChat works entirely inside your browser on WhatsApp Web. We do not have a server that receives, logs, or stores your conversations. Your chats stay between you, the people you message, and WhatsApp.
To translate a message, the text of that message is sent to a third-party translation service to be translated and sent back. By default this is a free translation provider (MyMemory); if you add your own DeepL key, it uses DeepL instead. This is the same way any translation app works. We don't attach your name or identity to it, and we don't keep a copy. Those providers handle the text under their own privacy policies.
If your conversations are sensitive, keep in mind that translating any message means its text is sent to that translation provider — just as it would be with Google Translate or any similar tool.
Your chosen languages, panel size and position, and (if you add one) your DeepL key are stored locally in your own browser. They never leave your device and we can't see them.
When you buy LenguaChat, payment is handled by Stripe. Stripe collects and processes your payment details under its own privacy policy; we don't receive or store your full card number. We do receive basic order information (such as your email and what you bought) to provide support and your purchase. Your statement will show 2ND EMPIRE MEDIA.
Our site is a simple informational and checkout page. We may use basic, privacy-respecting analytics to understand visits. We don't sell your personal information.
LenguaChat is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13.
